Toccata "Espagnole" for organ after a Spanish Fandango rhythm.

The circle of fifths contains 24 modes of major and minor scales. The present collection of piano bagatelles will include the scales with up to 4 accidentals in major and minor. In this way it will be open for many piano players. "Bagatelle" refers to the brevity of the movements. Due to their small tonal range and their musical character some bagatelles may be played on a pipe organ, too.

In addition to the characterization of the key scales it is intended to show ways of harmonic change. The the movements shall be presented in appropriate tempo, with differentiated dynamics and cantabile articulation. These piano pieces are meant for common practice, teaching play and recitals.

The “Tre pezzi sacri“ (three sacred pieces) were originally composed as a commissioned work for amateur choir. Considering that it was consitently held in traditional tonality. In the present version for mixed choir soprano part and alto part may be substituted by boy’s voices. The middle movement of the alternative setting for male choir however requires obligato boy’s voices.

The “Tre pezzi sacri“ are formatwise similar to the “Agnus Dei” for seven-part mixed choir op. 40. Both compositions therefor work well for a combined performance with their mixed choir formation.
