The Heroes' Symphony op. 72, composed in 1936, is to be understood as a tribute to the soldiers who died in the World War. The later deliberately misinterpreted patriotic stance of the composer Ferndinand Wilhelm Kranzhoff directs, in the words of German poets, our gaze to the German nation on behalf of all victims of a senseless slaughter for the aims of an unscrupulous political elite.
As the composer, only 36 years old, fell in combat barely four years later at the beginning of the Second World War, this work seems like a foreboding foresight into one's own fate.

The famous Moonlight serenade by Glen Miller is here presented as an arrangement for 12 Cellists by Wilhem Kaiser-Lindemann.

The Hymn of Praise op. 26 for boys' choir, male choir and organ based on words by Emanuel Geibel (1815-1884) was written in 1925. By integrating the ending sequence from the German national anthem into the final bars, the composer builds a bridge from the spiritual side to the secular present of time in the hope of a peaceful future through a unification of both aspects.

Around 1700, the cantata genre reached Italy during a cultural exchange. Composers began to combine the "Italian style" with the "French gout". The resulting French cantatas are characterized by these style mixtures, on which ancient love stories sound expressively in a wide spectrum of emotions. Today, the versatile pieces have largely been forgotten. Here is a selection from the cantatas by Jean-Baptiste Morin.

The lyrical song after the Christmas poem "Altes Bild" (old picture) by Ludwig Bäte was composed in 1933. Here it is offered for vocal part, oboe, bassoon, violin, cello and piano.

The well known violin sonata E major by Johann Sebastian Bach orchestrated as violin concert by Wilhelm Mohr.

"Two aspects caused me to adapt Bach's violin sonata BWV 1016 into a concert version: Primarily the well known experience that violine and obbligato harpsichord will not stand anymore in accoustic balance. Furthermore I was longing for transcribing the extensicve four-voice texture (mainly of the first and third movement) for string orchestra."
